Could you please help me with some ideas regarding the following topic.
We use an external User Provisioning system (AD) where user accounts and access rights are centrally managed.
This includes also C4C access rights including the type of access (= business role in C4C)
We have also configured SSO (Single Sign-On) in our C4C system with external Identity Provider (ADFS).
So in this case the users are centrally managed, and the access data is also verified by the identity provider, but in order that it works we need to manually maintain users in C4C, which as an additional effort for system administrators.
So we want somehow to automate the process.
The first idea was to replicate C4C-relevant employees from the user provisioning system to C4C using C4C standard WebService for employee replication.
But this integration process (Replicate Employee from SAP Business Suite - humancapitalmanagementmasterd6) is basically designed for integration with SAP systems. Has anyone tried to use it for integration with external systems? Will it work?
Our next idea was to organize the management of user data as a part of SSO process (i.e. employee/user will be created in C4C when a user tries to log on for the first time).
Is this approach somehow possible in C4C standard? If not, are there any ways to develop it?
Do you know any other ways to fulfill the requirement?
