1.- Why going to BOBI 4.1 SP3 and not to the latest release?
As per many sources, BOBI 4.1 SP3 is mentioned as one of the standard versions of SAP BI. Hence we opted for that. Also, this version is suggested by our technology vendor, based on our current Hardware availability.
2.- What are your constrains?
No other constraints apart from the Hardware match and standard version suggestion by our vendor
3.- How big in users/number of reports is your environment?
We have around 200+ users and 60+ reports((webi reports)
We want to plan for a safest upgrade to 4.1 and get rid of 3.1. At this point, I am not sure if our management is ready to spend money on the entire upgrade process. Instead they want to go for the cheapest available option with lowest risk. So, I suggested that we can get a new environment and install BI 4.1, make use of UMT and
get rid of 3.1 entirely. Do you think that it might cost us more money than doing an install within the same server?
