Date format in Contract Generation

I'm using contract document generation using Contract Template. In the generated word document I want Agreement Effective date in the format mmm dd, yyyy format. For example, when the Effective date is 10/29/2015, it shall be inserted as October 29, 2015. I have tried with Default date format in Setup, there is no date format matching the long descriptive date. Any ideas?
